Cork. Sounds cool. I'm in. I have a feeling you'll be back in Duluth sometime in the future. Shit's going to happen here. I'd like to see a Chesterkollen be a multi-day ski event, maybe with an unofficial Minnesota jr. or high school relay championships, followed by College Regionals. The trails are pretty narrow right now for that--especially a mass start 15km (5 laps!), but it could happen. The race at Marshall was sweet on Wednesday too, so maybe Marshallkollen is something we want Dave Johnson to put on. I'm thinking second week in February, right after the state meet, before the Birkie.

Chadder -- Rova (who I've never met, face-to-face) had a bit of discussion.

Chesterkollen -- got. to. happen. I'm sure I don't need to spell it out, but I'll just remind you: Bands, multi-lap courses, coffee & bake sale, beer garden, two colleges, bonfires ... it'd be on.

Quick, find me a reason to be in Duluth ...

The barn is my former place of employment: Colorado Rocky Mountain School... A good spot.

Hey Chad,

Headed to Duluth this weekend for the sled dog thing, but hoping to get in some skiing with my boy as well. Can you recommend any good trails close to town? We will be at Fitgers for something Saturday afternoon, so anything near there is cool, and our hotel is in Proctor, so that would be easy as well. Hope all is well, congrats on the engagement.

Tim Miner

PS good choice on the Telemark World cup trail, one of the best underutilized trails around.

Chad, word is you've got a song about the Unabaker. With his generator humming out my window on this cloudy day, I'd love to hear if you don't mind sharing it.

Chadder -- we're like peas in a pod: Korkki and Juha.

FYI: When in Finland, do not inquire about the possibility of hooking up with Juha Mieto's daughter. This behavior is not tolerated.
