Raising The Level Of Cross-Country Skiing In America

How's the skiing where you are? I had perfect extra blue classic skiing from 9-12 this morning at Eldora in Nederland, CO. It's a shame that they won't be grooming any more up there.

I still have 2-4 feet of Rode +6/-6 klister snow near my place in VT, but there is no more grooming here either.

Still 3 to 4 feet of snow here; just starting to melt and refreeze so crust cruising has begun. Had a FABULOUS 20+ mile skate yesterday on a forest service road along the south shore of Hebgen Lake. Had to dodge several piles of "moose duds." Rendezvous Trails in West Yellowstone still being groomed occasionally.

Alaska has perfect skiing! In fact, it seems like winter here all over again. At the Anchorage hillside trails, over 2 feet of snow has fallen in just the last week and a half. The NSAA has been doing a good job grooming, so skiing on the hillside is probably the best that it has been all winter. Higher up in the mountains, there is tons of snow. Our local ski resort Alyeska has a snow base of 218 inches (over 18 feet!!!) at an elevation of about 3000 ft. My guess is that there will be good crust skiing available until June.
