I'd like to say I was listening to hard-core motivational music to help on those killer uphills, but it was an audiobook. Helps me relax and "zone out". I highly recommend it!

John-

great pics from the LP Loppet; thanks for posting them. I remember skiing along with you during the race (I was bib 332).

Schreiner's is a great place to ski but it's to far from our Cappuccino maker in LP.

Skied Van Hoe last weekend...very nice! The Loppet should be a go.

RE: Question about LF vs. HF waxes on that other newsgroup (I can't bring myself to enter discussions there anymore):

In Colorado/Utah, I end up waxing with LF over HF quite often. I have two pairs of (matched) test skis so I'll compare four waxes at a time -- and LF is often the best. At SoHo a few weeks ago, LF4 was better than HF4 and BD4 in the morning -- all better than CH4, Start Green and LF6. As the day warmed up, LF6 got better -- but was even faster with FC1 on top. However, HF6 sucked. Weird.

Bottom line is that you should test wax -- wax one-and-one, compare, and apply to the race skis. Even if you just test on your warm-up skis, at least you know the better of two waxes.

I hope your favorite trails are not in order of preference!

We both know nothing beats High Notch after doing Porter and Russian Hill first!!
